Robin Williams is an American comedian and actor; He was born on 21st July 1951 in Chicago, Illinois.

He grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and Marin County, California. He was a shy person in his early years of childhood. He was performing in night clubs when he was discovered for the role in an episode of a TV series Happy Days in 1974 and later on for TV series Mork and Mindy in 1978.

He became famous with the alien Mork role in the TV series Mork and Mindy (1978 to 1982) and later with standup comedy. He was voted funniest man alive by Entertainment Weekly in 1997.

In 2004, Robin Williams was voted 13th at Comedy Central's list of 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time. Many Robin Williams Movies are famous for his comedy role, including Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) and The Birdcage (1996).

He also gave his voice in movies Aladdin (1992), Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1995), animated feature film Robots (2005), Happy Feet (2006) and Everyone's Hero (2006).

He also worked in dramatic movies such as Dead Poets Society (1989), The Fisher King (1991), Hook (1991), Awakenings (1990) and What Dreams May Come (1998). In 2002, Robin Williams worked in thriller movies Insomnia and One Hour Photo.

Robin Williams has done many stand-up comedy tours. Some of his famous tours are An Evening with Robin WilliamsRobin Williams: at the Met and Robin Williams LIVE on Broadway. The latter was in 2002 and broke many comedy show records.

Robin Williams won Oscar in 1998 for the best actor in a supporting role in the movie Good Will Hunting (1997).

He was also nominated for the Oscar for the best actor in a leading role in the movies The Fisher King (1991), Dead Poets Society (1989) and Good Morning, Vietnam (1987).

He won Golden Globe award in 1994 for the best performance by an actor in a comedy and musical motion picture in Mrs. Doubt fire (1993).
