Bollywood legend Actor Dilip Kumar has passed away at age 98

Indian film industry legend actor Dilip Kumar has died at the age of 98.

According to Indian media, Bollywood actor Yousuf Khan knows as Dilip Kumar, known as the "Emperor of Emotions, " shifted to Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital last week due to difficulty breathing and dying in the same hospital.

he shifted to hospital on 6 June last month where his family brought him back home on 11 June after his condition improved. But, his condition worsened and he again shifted to Hinduja Hospital on Wednesday, 30 June, and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward.

Kumar's family informed his fans about Dilip Sahib's health and his condition was improving for the last two days.

A close friend of Dilip Kumar also asked to pray for his recovery. But, Dilip Sahib could not survive and according to media reports, Bollywood's "Tragedy King" Dilip Kumar takes his last breath at 7:30 am on Wednesday 07 July at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.

Dilip Kumar's death was also announced on his verified Twitter account by his family friend Faisal Farooqi. 

He wrote on Twitter: "With deep sorrow and deep grief, I announce the death of our beloved Dilip Saab who passed away a few minutes ago. "We belong to Allah and to Allah we have to return."

Born as Yusuf Khan in Khudadad, Peshawar, Dilip Kumar made his acting debut in 1944 with the film Jawarbhata. Dilip Kumar, who has ruled Bollywood for almost five decades, has acted in more than 65 films. 

He was known as a romantic hero of his time. 'Sang Dil', 'Amar', 'Uran Khatola', 'On', 'Andaz', 'Naya Door', 'Madhumati', 'Yehudi', 'Mughal Azam' and 'Devdas' are some of the films in which Because of his work, he was nicknamed the "Emperor of Emotions".

But he proved that he knows the art of making people laugh by acting in the films 'Koh-e-Noor', 'Azad', 'Ganga-Jamna' and 'Ram and Shyam'

Dilip Kumar was an actor of his time whose style was imitated by boys and his fellow heroines as well as ordinary girls used to die for him. There were rumors of his love for the heroine Madhubala but the two could never be one in life.

In 1994, Dilip Kumar was awarded the Dada Sahib Phalke Award, the highest honor in the Indian film industry. In 2015, he was awarded India's second-highest civilian honor, the Padma V Bhushan. In 1998, Dilip Sahib was awarded the highest civilian honor in Pakistan by the government of Pakistan.
