ELECTION

"I would like to insist that this year's local and regional authority elections as well as the presidential election in 2024 will be held in strict accordance with the law, taking into account all democratic procedures and the Constitution.

ARMS CONTROL

"They (the West) want to trigger a strategic defeat and sneak into our nuclear facilities.

"Thus, today, I am forced to announce that Russia has suspended its participation in the Strategic Offensive Weapons Treaty (STAR), but Russia has not withdrawn from the agreement but has suspended its participation.

"The United States (US) is developing a new type of nuclear weapon. In this situation, the Russian Ministry of Defense and Rosatom need to ensure readiness to test Russian nuclear weapons.

"Of course, we will not be the first to do it, but if the US does a test, then we will do it too. No party should be afraid of the dangerous illusion that the uniformity of global strategic power can be destroyed," he said.
